At Katsuro Karate Club, your child’s safety is our top priority. We are fully committed to child protection and to creating a safe, supportive place where children can enjoy learning karate. All our instructors are members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, which means they are carefully checked and monitored to make sure they are suitable to work with young people. The PVG Scheme is run by Disclosure Scotland and helps keep children safe by flagging up any concerns if someone’s circumstances change. By being part of this scheme, we can reassure parents that we are doing everything possible to provide a safe, positive and trustworthy environment for every child.
Katsuro Karate Club is proud to be affiliated with NAKMAS (National Association of Karate and Martial Art Schools), which places a strong focus on safeguarding children and young people in martial arts. NAKMAS has a nationally recognised safeguarding policy that ensures clubs like ours follow clear standards to protect all participants. This includes safe recruitment practices, ongoing safeguarding training for instructors, and access to a dedicated safeguarding team for advice and support. By following NAKMAS safeguarding guidelines, we make sure every child can train in a safe, positive, and respectful environment where their wellbeing always comes first.
